Meet Our Dentists
The dentists at Collingwood Dental Centre are dedicated to providing comprehensive, personalized dental care to our patients in Collingwood.
Dr. Mark Rogers
Dr. Mark Rogers moved to Collingwood after an 8-year associateship in Southampton, where he gained significant experience in geriatric dentistry.
Additionally, he enjoys an active orthodontic component and leveraging his considerable experience in general restorative, crown and bridge surgery.
He believes it is vital to build strong relationships with patients and parents. His experience volunteering in free dental clinics in Honduras enabled him to be even more successful in family practice, helping children overcome dental fears by displaying kindness, patience and compassion.
He strongly believes that a positive attitude and a passion to provide excellent patient care is the cornerstone to the best possible dental care.
He looks forward to meeting you!
Dr. Mohammed Saigar
I was born in Kenya, East Africa and grew up in Mississauga. I completed my BSc in Microbiology with distinction at the University of Toronto and followed by Doctor of Dental Surgery at McGill University in Montreal.
I have been practicing in Collingwood since 1996, after short stints in Northern Ontario, with focus in Surgery which is an aspect I enjoy. I have special interest in Implant dentistry and have pursued continuing education with the best in this field from the United States to Portugal.
I enjoy spending my down time expanding my hobby of scuba diving. This summer I successfully become a certified PADI divemaster and now in the process of completing my open water instructor certification with PADI. We also are globe trotters always in search for new and exciting destinations to explore.
My family and I are blessed to live and work in the best and most desirable place in Ontario: Collingwood. I look forward to meet you and make you part of the Collingwood Dental Centre family.
Dr. Robert Reid
In 1993, Dr. Robert Reid left another practice in town and opened Collingwood Dental Centre at 60 Hume Street. Judy Manchester was the hygienist, his mom and his wife Kathy worked at the front desk.
His youngest son Stuart and Judy’s son Malcolm, were often trapped in a gated unequipped operatory in the back as they ran a makeshift daycare some mornings. It was fun and exciting, those early days. Collingwood Dental Centre has come a long way since then and Dr. Reid has had the wonderful good fortune to be supported by so many patients, his fellow dentists and a great team.
The practice and Collingwood have both grown and so has his family. Three of our four children live in Collingwood and Kathy and I have 6 grandsons so far. Their furthest daughter lives in Barrie. His parents still live in Collingwood. They are blessed to have them all so close.
Throughout his dental career, Dr. Reid has tried to give back to the community. Each year, the practice has sponsored Programs at the Y with donations and he has served continuously on YMCA Boards or committees. He enjoyed many years as a member of the Collingwood Rotary Club. The practice runs a free dentistry day called Give Back, Smile Back and gives donations to many community organizations. They try to do their part for a vibrant Collingwood.
Over the years our practice has always invested in courses and technology to try to use equipment to compliment their skills. They can make one-visit crowns, they have lasers to help with periodontal treatment and we have scanners that they often use instead of the gooey impressions. Now, with the threat of COVID 19, they are going to use the best ways they can find, to keep staff and patients safe from the virus.
Dr. Reid still really likes dentistry, seeing patients and doing those little tiny things that dentists do. But he is narrowing his scope.
Invisalign is an exciting new technology that can move teeth more easily and more comfortably than braces. He is going to spend the majority of his time doing only these types of cases. Dr Rogers will be seeing most of Dr. Reid's patients for their "regular" dentistry, though if a person wanted to, they could just as easily see Dr Mohammed or Dr Zain (The Saigar Brothers).
Dr. Reid sincerely hopes that you will let Collingwood Dental Centre continue to care for you and your families. The clinic has a spectacular team. And he is not going anywhere. He will still be there most days and if there is anything he can do to help, he is happy to do so.
Dr. Reid plans to be semi-retired for many years. Dentistry, and helping patients, has been part of hsi life for a long time. The profession, and the patients of Collingwood Dental Centre will continue to be a personal cornerstone for many years to come.
Dr. Zain Saigar
Mississauga was home for me, where I spent most of my childhood. After completing my undergraduate degree (BSc.), I continued at the University of Toronto, graduating with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009.
After completing my dental degree I decided to move to Collingwood to practice. My wife Zahra and daughter’s Zareen and Zaahira love being part of this community as it offers a variety of active living activities and social programming for all ages.
In addition to practicing at the Collingwood Dental Centre, I visit local retirement and long-term care facilities in the Simcoe/Georgian Bay area providing emergency dental assessment care if needed.
My focus over the years has been mainly focused on providing patients who have a real fear and or anxiety a safe and warm environment to have their oral care health needs met. Sedation denitstry from awake to asleep gives patients the choice and control to conquer their fears and tackle the challenges they face.
I have also spent a number of years training in the US (New York, California and Florida) to further my education to provide dental implant and cosmetic dentistry treatment options to our patients.
I enjoy travelling and exploring new places, volunteering my time with various charitable organizations, some of which include the Rotary Club of South Georgian Bay, Heath Missions Outreach (providing dental care for those in need), IDRF (International Development and Relief Fund) and Project 417 “Helping the Homeless”.
